WASHINGTON DC -- Congresswoman Mariannette Miller-Meeks (IA-01) expressed her views on the recent EPA announcement regarding the E15 waiver. The waiver would allow for the nationwide sale of E15 for the upcoming summer season.
In her statement, Miller-Meeks acknowledged the significance of the EPA's decision, stating, "Today’s E15 waiver announcement by the EPA was long overdue, but good news for farmers and Iowa. Allowing the nationwide sale of E15 this summer will lower costs for Iowans and many Americans at the gas pump." She also emphasized the need for further action, noting that the waiver is only a temporary solution.
Highlighting the importance of long-term solutions, Miller-Meeks called on Congress to take immediate steps towards enabling the permanent voluntary sale of E15 year-round across the country. She affirmed her commitment to advancing legislation in this regard, stating, "Representing Iowa in Congress, I will continue to lead the charge to get E15 legislation passed to lower costs for consumers and unleash America’s energy potential."
Earlier in March, Miller-Meeks spearheaded an initiative urging key congressional figures to support legislative measures that would facilitate the year-round voluntary sale of E15 nationwide.
